Boulevard of broken dreams -- Stanton & Eldridge
Nothing makes me sadder than seeing used copies of actors' handbooks on how to break into the industry. Who used to own this book? Did he/she actually make it, and decided to clean out his/her bookshelf? Or did (s)he just give up, and got rid of the book to make a couple of bucks for a sandwich or two? The latter alternative seems more likely.

Sunday night: Japandroids at the Mercury Lounge
When I was single, I used to complain about the scarcity of tall men in New York. However, while I never seemed to encounter them elsewhere, they were always in abundance whenever I went to see a band - standing right in front of me, efficiently blocking the view.
Yesterday's show at the Mercury was a much appreciated exception.
